Advent of Christ Series: An Agent of HOPE
What is hope?
- A feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen
- A feeling of trust
- Want something to happen or be the case
- An expectation and anticipation that rests in what we believe(biblical explanation)
What is advent:
Advent is the coming of Christ.
With the state, the world is currently in and going, we as leaders in the Marketplace and Ministries have opportunities to display hope that will bring purposeful results.
We understand Advent means coming. So when we are in our marketplace and ministry setting, are you bringing hope? Is hope being displayed? As agents of hope, we are coming with hope with its assigned purpose.
The workplace, your place of business, and of course church has become a place of therapy, a place of consolation, a place where a person is seeking the hope they are longing for.
As agents of hope, we have to show faith even when we do not see the vision of the plan, or understand how to reach the goal. This is when we show the execution of hope in faith. Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.”
As you go through the Advent season, be the agent of HOPE in your home, workplace, business, community, and ministry. Be an example for others to see regardless of obstacles and setbacks there is Hope in Christ.
Can you imagine God being who He is not offering us the hope that we need? And we know the hope is in Christ Jesus. I remember a song we used to sing,
I’m looking for a blessed hope, I’m looking for a blessed hope, the hour is nearing the hour is appearing, I’m looking for the blessed hope.
As hope agents we bring:
- Help
- Opportunities
- Possibilities
- Experience
Hope does these two things:
- Hope builds belief
- Hope pushes faith
Bible Scriptures on Hope:
Psalm 39:7
And now, Lord what wait I for? My hope is in thee. KJV
And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you. NLT
Lamentations 3:25 The Lord is good to those who hope is in him, to the one who seeks Him.
Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him so that you may overflow with
hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in
hope.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you saith the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster to give you a future and a
hope.
